CIY identifies with Protestant Evangelical and Pentecostal Christianity in many areas and is classified as Pentecostal because of its conviction that the apostolic dynamic move of the Holy Spirit can and should be experienced and manifested in the church today.

The Scriptures Inspired

We believe the Bible is the only inspired, plenary, infallible, inerrant and authoritative Word of God.

The One True God

+

We believe there is One True God, eternally existing in One Person and revealed Himself in three manifestations: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.

The Deity of Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ: His incarnation, virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension and future return in power and glory.

The Fall of Man

We believe man was created by God good and upright, but in his fallen condition voluntarily sinned against God and incurred spiritual and physical death.

The New Birth

We believe the New Birth — also called Born Again, Born from Above or Spirit, or Regeneration — is essential for salvation.

The Salvation of All Men

We believe God, in His omnipotent power and omniscient wisdom, is the Savior of all men and will save all men by His own means and ways.

The Justification of All Men

We believe in the justification of all men as set forth in Romans 5:15–21, and in justification as God's sovereign act of declaring a sinner not guilty upon profession of faith in Christ.

Sanctification

We believe Scripture teaches a life of sanctification and holiness: separation from what is sinful and dedication to God and His work.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe in baptism with the Holy Spirit, distinct from the New Birth, bringing an endowment of power from on high for Christian living and service.

Speaking in Other Tongues

We believe baptism in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
